Nematodirus - posterior region of male

Group: Bursate, non-migratory nematodes
Host species: Cattle, sheep
Features: 
  • Large, slender worm found in the small intestine
  • Often twisted, forming cotton wool-like clumps
  • Male has prominent bursa with long spicules which project outside the bursa - compare this with Haemonchus where the spicules only project during copulation
