The plasma values of adrenaline peak within 5 minutes of treatment at 75 pg/ml above baseline values and return to baseline values within 20 minutes.  In contrast, the plasma nor-adrenaline concentrations rise to a peak of 450pg/ml at 30 minutes post treatment returning to base line values about 100 minutes after treatment.  In contrast to the catecholamine values, the plasma cortisol response peaks (60nmol/l) at 30 minutes after treatment but had not returned to pre-treatment values by 180 minutes after treatment (Mellor et al 2002)
