Trichuris

Group: Non-bursate, non-migratory nematode
Host species: sheep, cattle, pigs, dog
Features:
  •  Characteristic whip-like appearance - hence the common name of "whipworm"
  • The filamentous anterior end is embedded in the mucosa
  • In the female the thick posterior end contains large numbers of eggs given it a whitish colour
