Trichinella larvae in polar bear muscle

Host species: All carnivores
Features:
  • Encysted, hypobiotic larvae in muscle cell
  • Adults found in gut
  • Female gives rise to larvae which migrate from the gut to the muscles
  • These are the infective form for the next host
