Toxocara canis - anterior region

Group: Non-bursate, migratory, ascarid nematode
Host species: Canines
Features:
  •  Stout white worms found in the intestine or passed in faeces
  • Three-lipped mouth, characteristic of ascarids
  • Long cervical alae giving the worm a lance-like (lanceolate) appearance
  • Finger-like process on the tip of the posterior end  distinguishes T.canis from from Toxascaris leonina
