Oxyuris on horses faeces

Group: non-bursate, non-migratory, nematode
Host species: Equines
Features:
  • White worm with pronounced pointed posterior, especially in female
  • Lacks buccal capsule and bursa (male)
  • Female emerges from rectum to lay eggs around the edges of the anus
  • Females can become dislodged and fall onto the ground
