Ascaris suum- worm burden from one pig

	Group: Non-bursate, migratory ascarid nematode
	Host species: Swine
	Features: Large, whitish worms without an obvious morphological features Up to 40cm long Large numbers of adults can cause obstruction to the gut or bile duct Ascariasis results in poor feed conversion and can extend the fattening period of young pigs by up to 8 weeks Similar to Parascaris of equines
