Ascaridia - infected chicken gut

Group: non-bursate, non-migratory, ascarid nematode
Host species: Domestic and wild birds
Features:
  • Large, stout, white worm - largest found in poultry
  • Up to 12cm long
  • Impact greatest in young birds, adults often symptomless carriers
