Pathogen-Vector-Host Interactions

A diverse range of projects are currently underway at CTVM aimed at u
nderstanding the complex relationships between both pathogen and vector and vector and host. For example, the mechanisms of innate resistance of vectors to parasite infections, together with the complex interactions between vector and parasite, leading to parasite differentiation.  Frequently, the trypanosome tsetse interface as a model system for dissection of both the programmed cell death and differentiation pathways in the African trypanosomes.
