2000-2002: overseas training adviser for Brooke Hospital for Animals to improve the preventative and educational aspects of their overseas operations. 

Short courses in country on draught animal power at various levels: for research workers (The Gambia, Germany and Vietnam), trainers of trainers, extensionists and farmers (South Africa, Uganda) and MSc students in a Swedish funded Masters course on Sustainable Agriculture (Sweden, Vietnam).

External examiner for various post-graduate degrees at the Universities of Zimbabwe, Morogoro, Tanzania, Uppsala, Sweden, Glasgow and Reading.
