Lesion Configuration

The configuration of any lesions should also be noted.

Single lesions may be observed in dermatophytosis or in cutaneous neoplasia.

Linear lesions might indicate external trauma or lesions associated with a blood vessel, dermatome or a congenital malformation.

Annular lesions usually indicate peripheral spreading of disease as in pyoderma or dermatophytosis.
