Principles of History Taking (3 of 3)

Is there evidence of systemic involvement?

  • Are there other diseases present?

Has the animal been seen by a practitioner previously?

  • What tests were done?
  • What therapy has been given?  When was treatment last administered?

It is important to sum up after taking the history. Any additional comments from the owner can be made at this time and an assessment of possible diagnoses can be made.
