The first lamb, after rubber ring castration is showing open-mouth breathing and slight lip curling, a behaviour also shown by the second lamb.  The rubber ring castrated calf is wrinkling its nose, which is often performed in association with other pain related activities e.g. easing quarters and tail wagging.  The last calf with bloat has wide open eyes and looks pathetic!!
