Lamb (Purple 9) received local anaesthetic immediately after the ring was applied and although showing some of the activities associated with ring castration, e.g. tail wagging its postural changes and activities are less violent than shown by lamb (Purple 10). The following activities can be seen; rolling, tail wagging, kicking and stamping, frequent changing from standing to lying and back again, easing quarters (shown by Purple 10 at 10:39.00, just as purple 9 gets up and walks by him and after Purple 10 showed a long period of quiet lateral lying). The blue F marked lamb shows head turning and jumping as well as some of the above movements. Green F lamb (with Blue F) is normal. The final green 13 lamb is showing trembling behaviour and eases his hind quarters at 9:50.28 and again at 9:50.40.
