The incidence of ear twitching (in a three hour period three days after treatment) in control and tail docked piglets was about 20 instances versus about 90 in piglets castrated, ear notched, tail docked and teeth clipped. The incidence of tail wagging was about 65 for controls, 83 for tail docked and 190 for castrated, docked, teeth clipped and ear notched piglets.   Respective mean incidences for itching the quarters on the floor were 1, 1.8 and 5.8).
